The Sioux Empire Sportsmen's Show returned to Sioux Falls this weekend, bringing a little bit of everything outdoors.

The show, now in it's 48th year, combined a boat show, a camping and RV show, a hunting and fishing show, and a travel show all into one.

The Sioux Falls Sportsmen's Boat, Camping & Vacation Show will feature the newest boat models on the market including fishing boats, fiberglass boats, runabouts, personal watercraft and pontoons. The show also features travel trailers, motor homes, truck campers, fifth wheelers and conversion vans. Exhibitors will display fishing tackle, hunting and fishing gear, camping and travel accessories, sports equipment, taxidermy and information for vacation and travel destinations on fishing resorts, hunting grounds, campgrounds, fly-in camps and Great Lakes charters in multiple states and Canada. The show will also have daily free seminars on fishing and hunting given by the experts, plenty of kids activities, and more!

This was my first time attending this show in Sioux Falls (having moved to the city just a couple years ago). I was impressed by the variety of vendors, as well as how open and friendly they all were.

If I had any complaint there were so many campers and trailers, that I found myself walking around among them as if trapped in a labyrinth. I have expected to turn a corner and find myself face to face with a minotaur. Fortunately, considering all the hunting gear available I think I would have had the upper hand.

I would recommend anyone give the show a try next year when it returns. Even if you are not an avid outdoorsman (I'm not) it is worth experiencing how high tech the outdoors has become.
