Over 500 South Dakotans are currently living with HIV/AIDS. Many of them are struggling to afford the medicines they need to survive, but there is a way we can help. AIDS Walk 2014 is coming up on Saturday, September 20th at Falls Park with a 5 K and a 1.5K stroll from Falls Park to Phillips Avenue downtown.

Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the walk begins at 9:00 a.m. Your $30 registration fee includes your AIDS Walk t-shirt. You can pre-register by downloading a registration form here.

Everyone who raises $100 or more wins a prize, plus there will be prizes for the top fundraiser, top team leader for largest team and top male, female and youth finishers.

The challenge this year is to raise or self-donate $30 dollars (not including your registration fee) and you'll receive an AIDS Walk insulated tumbler that you can use and show your support with year-round. There will also be a red costume contest, as all walkers are encouraged to wear red to show their support.

If you're unable to join the walk, but would still like to contribute, you will still get a t-shirt and any prizes you qualify for depending on how much money you raise or contribute.

If you'd like to volunteer to help with the walk instead of walking yourself, there are a ton of opportunities too, so just click here.
