A Friday night (April 19) accident in Nashville has the bass player for the rock band 3 Doors Down facing vehicular homicide charges.

Police say 41-year old Robert Todd Harrell was speeding when his car clipped a pickup truck, sending it through a guardrail and down an embankment, killing the driver of the truck.

Sheriff's deputies discovered a plastic bag concealed in Harrell's sock that contained 8 Xanax pills, 24 oxycodone pills and 4 oxymorphone pills. Harrell also has been charged with bringing controlled substances into the jail.

Harrell is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond.

A statement on the 3 Doors Down website reads: "We are deeply saddened by the passing of Paul Howard Shoulders, Jr. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family and friends at this difficult time."
