3 Girls From Olivet Raise money For CKC Radiothon. ‘We Simply Know Too Many People With Cancer.’
For these three young ladies from Olivet, SD., giving and helping is all in a day’s work. Tess and Jaedyn, Oplinger, along with family friend Carol, set out to make a difference and offer encouragement for those who are battling cancer.
Last year, the girls seeded, grew, watered, and maintained a roadside garden near their home. When the fruits and vegetables were ready, they sold them with the money donated to help Sanford Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Then, when Faces to the Falls Bike Tour came through town, the girls were ready. Selling bottled water and other goods to the bicyclists.
“We are donating the money in honor of our cousin and others we know who have cancer.”
Mom, Linda, was all too happy to help. Giving the girls a ride to Sioux Falls on their day off from school to donate a couple of plastic bags with cash and change to our Results Radio stations totaling $172.50.
We will donate the money during the Cure Kids Cancer Radio-thon, Thursday and Friday, march 27 & 28th, at the Sanford Castle of Care.
On behalf of all the kids you are helping with this generous donation, thank you, Tess, Jaedyn, and Carol, for setting a shining example for all of us. A job well done!
