PIERRE - The South Dakota Division of Motor Vehicles has installed self-service terminals for vehicle registration in Brookings, Mitchell and Watertown.

Officials say the terminals are being placed in additional cities because the initial machines placed in Rapid City and Sioux Falls were a big success.

The latest 24-hour self-service terminals were placed at the Hy-Vee Food Stores in Brookings and Watertown and the County Fair Food Store in Mitchell.

Each station is fully automated and dispenses license renewal tags on the spot. A $2 convenience fee per vehicle is assessed.

New terminals are scheduled to be installed in the next few weeks at the Rushmore Mall in Rapid City, Kessler's Food in Aberdeen and the Hy-Vee Food Store in Yankton.
