4th Grader Gets Standing Ovation After Shaming School Board Over Standardized Testing
An elementary student in Brooksville, Florida isn't happy with the new statewide testing in schools, and she's making her opinion known. Nine-year old Sydney Smoot spoke last week in front of the Hernando County School Board. She told school leaders that she's not happy with the new Florida Standards Assessments.
Lawmakers throughout Florida are dealing with the issue of standardized testing, along with the introduction of new educational standards. While there is agreement that too many tests are being administered throughout the state, no real solution has been offered as of yet.
Tests or no tests, it's clear that this young lady has a very bright future ahead.
