No I don't have a smart phone, but I do take my little Canon Power Shot camera with me everywhere. And it takes fabulous pictures. On my recent trip back to Montana, my sister Carolyn and I actually went to a wonderful little lake I had never been to before, so I thought I'd share some of the pics.

This is us on the way in Carolyn's tiny car with her giant Newfoundland puppy, Angel, who is barely a year old and already the size of a small pony!

This is Salmon Lake, which is about an hour-and-a-half from Helena, where Carolyn lives. The view was from our picnic table up on a little bluff area.

Newfoundlands love water and love to swim and other than her giant backyard wading pool, this was Angel's first swim in a large body of water.

We threw sticks for her to retrieve and she waded around and swam for quite awhile. Her mom, Carolyn tried not to fall completely under what had turned back into icy cold water. She says that a 90 degree day in July or August is the best time to be at Salmon Lake for a refreshing swim, but perhaps not a mid-September late afternoon. I did wade around until I couldn't feel my toes anymore and then just kept throwing stuff for Angel from shore.

We finally took a break from the lake and sat down to a picnic repast of cheese, meats crackers, mini-carrots with dip, Oreos, (yes they're not just good on the road, but when you stop too) and of course- a tasty cold beverage!

Angel and I then had a serious chat about her snack thievery.
