Home Depot Employee Catches Baby Falling Out of Shopping Cart
On January 8, 2014, Christopher Strickland was just your average 19-year-old. One day later, he was a hero.
Strickland was working at his job at the Home Depot in South Anchorage, Alaska. He was waiting for a customer to come through his check-out lane when he noticed a baby loose in a car seat in a shopping cart. He said he kept an eye on it and when the baby began to tip out of the car seat, he darted toward the cart and caught the baby girl in midair, moments before she hit the concrete floor.
The moment was caught on surveillance video and someone put the footage on the internet.
Strickland has been nominated for an “Angel Award” for acts of heroism in the store.
