Race number eight for the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup season is in the books. And Carl Edwards adds his name to the winners list for the year. Of course the back flip he's known for was presented to the crowd in victory lane.

Edwards had the dominating car at Bristol just like he did at Texas the week before. But Texas included problems on pit road that cost him the race.

At Bristol, it was victory in dominating fashion leading 276 of the 500 laps. Edwards took the checkers 7/10’s of a second ahead of second place finisher Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

Kurt Busch was third, then some surprises at the finish. Chase Elliott raised eyebrows with fourth after a top five last week at Texas.

Trevor Bayne ran fifth, scoring his first top five since his surprise victory in the 2011 season-opening Daytona 500. Let’s look at some notable troubles behind the top five. Take a look at how your driver finished.

Kyle Busch was going for a third straight victory, but blew two front tires and hit the wall twice. Denny Hamlin also suffered problems with front sneakers.

At Bristol, you need the outside lane to win. Kevin Harvick kept drawing the inside lane for restarts. I felt he had the fastest car in the later part of the race, but we never got to see it.

Harvick still tops the standings with Edwards tucked in right behind him. See where your driver is in the standings.
