Police are looking for a man who allegedly pulled a knife on a woman at a gas station in western Sioux Falls Monday night and was hit with a stun gun in return.

Information Officer Sam Clemens says the 27-year-old woman told police she had just driven up to the station in the 4600 block of West 41st Street around 9pm Monday and was getting out of her car when the man approached her.

Clemens says the man told the woman he knew who she was, although she didn't know him, and then he pulled a knife and threatened her.

Clemens says the woman told police she pulled a stun gun from her purse and used it on him. When the man fell to the ground, the woman says she took the knife and drove away, leaving him lying there.

Around 10:30pm, the woman went to the Law Enforcement Center and reported the incident.

Clemens says detectives will use store surveillance video to try to identify the man, and also to determine whether it all happened as the woman reported it.
