Good thing Rolling Stone got to Ariana Grande before that no-talking order from her throat doctor -- she spills all sorts of good info to the mag, including details on her next album and what she thought of Miley Cyrus at the MTV VMAs!

Meanwhile, Ariana's first album, 'Yours Truly,' officially debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, with 138,000 albums sold. Yes, it's only been out just over one week, but the hard-working singer is already revealing details about her next album, due in February (!).

"I don't want it to sound like an extension of 'Yours Truly,'" she tells the magazine. "I want it to sound like an evolution. I want to explore more sounds and experiment a little bit. I have a bunch of ideas I'm very excited about and a lot of stuff cooking."

Ariana also dishes on Cyrus' controversial VMAs performance. While the two artists' images currently couldn't be any more different, don't count Ariana as one of those piling on Miley. "She looked like she was having the time of her life," Ariana says. "She's happy. I'm happy. We're both doing our different things. There's nothing wrong with having fun. Nothing wrong. I think all the people who are saying mean things about it and who are judging, need to spend less time judging other people and more time worrying about how to have as much fun as she's having in life right now."

Aw, sounds like Ariana is as sweet as she looks!
