Assault at Union Gospel Mission, One in Critical Condition

The Union Gospel Mission at 8th and Weber was the site of an argument that became violent and sent a man to the hospital fighting for his life.

According to Sergeant Robert Forster, the aggravated assault took place just after Noon on Sunday October 30th when Sioux Falls Police received the 911 call:

Metro Communications advised responding officers that a male was beating another male with a chair outside the establishment. When officers arrived on scene they found a 61 year old male victim unconscious with severe head trauma. A male suspect was identified by several witnesses on scene and subsequently arrested.

The suspect, 31 year old Daniel Obed Murillo was arrested and taken to the Minnehaha County Jail for Aggravated Assault charges.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, is in critical condition at a local hospital.
