We always knew Lady Gaga was larger-than-life in a metaphorical sense. But she is literally just that in the towering billboard for her upcoming Fame fragrance, which utterly dominates Times Square. The billboard, which is the same image as the first print ad, featuring a naked Gaga being scaled by dozens of mini-men while wearing a latex mask and slicked back blonde hair, stretches across 7,400 square feet of the tourist haven’s southeast corner.
Miley Cyrus is all about sweeping, drastic changes. Not only did the former teen pop queen and onetime ‘Hannah Montana’ star chop off her normally long locks in favor of a short, punk-inspired pixie (which we’ve not come to love after living with the photos for a few days, even though Cyrus is naturally beautiful and can wear her hair anyway, we still don’t love it.) She also added her voice to ‘Decisions,’ a new track by Borgore, a few months ago, but it’s finally landed online for your listening pleasure.
Smack dab in the middle of Furgate, that controversy magnet Lady Gaga resumed wearing meat, fashioning a corset-like outfit out of what looked like a slab of beef. It’s a familiar, uh, fabric, for Mother Monster. She rocked the attire onstage in Bucharest, Romania last week. Maybe the meat went bed or smelled rancid, as she she also promptly vomited, mid-performance.
Are Justin Bieber and his longtime love Selena Gomez making an official “move” when it comes to their relationship by moving in together? Well, if moving vans seen outside of Gomez’s pad over the weekend are any indication, that could very well be the case.
Poor Cher Lloyd. The sassy British cutie was booed off the stage at the second day (Aug. 19) of the V Festival in her native U.K. over the weekend. Gasp! Boo! Hiss! And we’re not making those noises about Lloyd. We’re making them about the crowd that treated her poorly.
After weeks of speculation on who would take a seat next to diva-of-all-divas Mariah Carey on the revamped ‘American Idol‘ judges panel, it looks as though reigning rap royalty Nicki Minaj will be joining the show. Whoa. Mariah and Nicki? On one panel? That’s enough diva in one room to make the earth stop spinning on its axis.
The awards recognize the most charitable people, places and events of the past year. So it’s refreshing in that it’s not another ceremony where Hollywood pats itself on the back for being talented and good-looking. Instead, good works are celebrated.
New York City businessman Frank Mandelbaum, the founder of Intellicheck, an ID verification system, left behind a very specific request for his gay son, Robert, in his will, should he have any children — marry the mother or the children will be left with nothing.
Rihanna‘s one-on-one with talk show doyenne Oprah Winfrey for ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’ focused on her relationship with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. Most of the preview clips focused on RiRi crying while recounting her love for him (as opposed to her memories of the beating he handed to her), which was a smart strategy to pull viewers in.
But the most striking thing about the chat was the vulnerability. Ri has put up a hard, super sexy, tough girl shell for much of the past few years, but Opes took a hammer and broke down those walls. For the first time in a long time, RiRi was real, not just this unattainable, ice cold pop star.
