Christian Bale’s Body Has Achieved Its Final Form as Dick Cheney
Some actors are chameleons who disappear into their roles — like Gary Oldman and his prosthetics, or Daniel Day-Lewis and his prestigious method Acting. But only one actor has a body that’s capable of transforming into myriad shapes and sizes, shrinking and expanding itself, seemingly at will, to inhabit any number of roles. That actor is Christian Bale, and for his latest experiment in testing the boundaries of good health, he’s morphed his oft-chiseled physique into a squishy human-shaped cushion to portray former Vice President Dick Cheney.
Netflix Won’t Confirm Theatrical Release for Martin Scorsese’s ‘The Irishman’
When Martin Scorsese first took his next project to Netflix, it raised more than a few eyebrows. It seemed odd that Scorsese, an outspoken advocate for the theatrical viewing experience and film preservation, would give his new movie to a streaming service. But according to early reports, part of the deal for The Irishman was an agreement to release the film theatrically — giving Netflix a chance to vie for that coveted Oscar and satisfying Scorsese’s artistic integrity. It’s awfully strange, then, that Netflix has yet to confirm a theatrical release for The Irishman.
Cable Meets His Maker in This Great New ‘Deadpool 2’ Set Photo
It’s going to be a little while before we see the first trailer for Deadpool 2. In the meantime, if you’ve already breezed through the Merc With the Mouth’s special holiday issue of Good Housekeeping (no, seriously; it’s a thing), then you’re probably itching for more Deadpool content. Thankfully, there’s a pretty awesome new photo from the set of the upcoming sequel. And if you’re a comic book fan, you’ll particularly appreciate this one.
Ben Affleck Still Seems Unsure About ‘The Batman’
Not long after Matt Reeves took over directing duties on The Batman, rumors began swirling about Ben Affleck’s potential exit from the DCEU. According to some reports Affleck may not be in Reeves’ film, which Warner Bros. hopes will kickstart a new trilogy on par with Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight. Another report suggested Affleck is leaving the DCEU entirely after Justice League. But what does Affleck have to say about his Bat-future?
George Miller Suing Warner Bros. for Unpaid ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Debt
By filmmaker George Miller’s own account, Mad Max: Fury Road took 10 years to develop and an additional three years of production — totally worth it, based on the end result, which picked up 10 Oscar nominations (including Best Picture) and won six. Though Miller has expressed interest in returning to the franchise in the (relatively) near future, those plans may suffer the consequences of a recent lawsuit filed by the Australian filmmaker to recoup an allegedly unpaid debt from Warner Bros.
Two More Women Accuse Jeremy Piven of Sexual Assault as 2013 Allegation Resurfaces
You’d be forgiven if — somewhere between Harvey Weinstein, Brett Ratner, Kevin Spacey, and the numerous allegations of sexual harassment and assault leveled against them (and others) in recent weeks — you had forgotten about Jeremy Piven. The former Entourage star was previously accused of sexually assaulting a woman on the set of the HBO series. Over the last several days, two more women have come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct, while video footage of another woman accusing Piven of harassment in 2013 has resurfaced.
Louis C.K. Accused of Engaging in Sexual Misconduct With Five Women
This afternoon, the New York premiere of Louis C.K.’s upcoming film I Love You, Daddy was canceled amid reports that the New York Times was on the verge of publishing a major story about the comedian. That story is, as many suspected, a damning exposé on C.K.’s history of alleged sexual misconduct. Five women went on the record with the Times to share stories of uncomfortable encounters with C.K., the oldest of which dates back to the late ’90s.
‘Game Night’ Trailer: Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams Night of Fun Goes Haywire
Their screenplay work on Spider-Man: Homecoming may have been wonderful, but John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein don’t have the most impressive track record when it comes to directing comedies. (See: Vacation, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.) However — and that’s a big however — the trailer for their latest movie, Game Night, looks like it just might be a total blast.
‘Black Panther’ Cast Reveals Stunning Series of New Character Posters
Now that Thor: Ragnarok is in theaters (and almost all of you have seen it, presumably), it’s time for Marvel fans to turn their attention to the MCU’s next installment: Black Panther. After a pair of thrilling trailers introduced us to the vibrant (and vibranium-packed) world of Wakanda, the cast of director Ryan Coogler’s upcoming superhero film has unveiled a series of new character posters, and they are quite stunning.
Articles About Bryan Singer’s Alleged Assaults Mysteriously Vanish Along With His Twitter Account
In the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal, numerous women have (and continue to) come forward with allegations about the former Hollywood executive’s history of sexual harassment, assault and rape. He’s not the only one. Dozens of brave women and men have spoken out in recent weeks with similar accusations about Kevin Spacey, filmmaker and producer James Toback, and others. The dam has effectively burst, leading many to wonder if older allegations may resurface now that Hollywood appears ready to listen and take action. And one of the names most frequently uttered on social media in recent weeks is that of director and producer Bryan Singer.
