If you suffered from a cold or the flu more than twice this season I hope you are taking steps to build up your immune system again.

Lucky as I may be, my count was zero.  Not so for my wife.  Once she came down with a cold in early February it started to taper off about three weeks later.  Only to regain its second wind and take her down until the first part of April.

Two months of sleeping in the guest bedroom so both of us could get sleep.  Seven boxes of tissue, four days of missed work, gallons of juice and water, two trips to the doctor and the list goes on and on.

Me?  Not a sniffle.

Neither of us got a flu shot this year.  We rely mostly on eating right, washing our hands  and trying to avoid those who are already sick.  Kind of difficult when some people refuse to stay at home when sick.

Hand sanitizer maker Purell conducted a survey and found half of adults were mostly hit one to two times with cold or flu.

Six states — including Connecticut, New Jersey and Oklahoma — still are reporting high flu-like illnesses, down from 11 states the week before. New York City and 30 states now are seeing only minimal activity, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.

Have you been sick more than once this season?
