I had something happen to me the other night that now has me second-guessing my decision to attend an event.

We were out for dinner with some friends when I nonchalantly mentioned that I was attending the Nickelback concert at the Denny Sanford Premiere Center and they all looked at me like I suddenly had a third eye pop out of the middle of my forehead.

"Nickelback, who's that?", one of my friends asked. I responded by saying, "Oh, they're a really great rock band."

So then he asked me, "So what are some of their songs that I may recognize?" And that's when I froze and said, "Well, they play this really cool song that my golf buddies and I like to listen to when we're on a golf trip together."

And then my friend - adding insult to injury - asked me, "What's the name of the song?" Panicking I fired back, "I don't know, but it's got a really great beat." - AWKWARD!

My first response when I got home was, "What have I gotten myself into? I'm going to a concert because of one song - that I don't even know the name to? Am I crazy?"

Yes, I realize there's a really good chance the four of us going could be the oldest people in the building. And, yes, we may look and feel out of place, but, you know what? I've decided I don't care!  I'll be with good friends making great memories.

So, if your kid comes home from the Nickelback concert March 3 talking about these four 'old guys' acting crazy, chances are it was me and my friends - dancing along to the song we don't know the name to!
