Best City For Early Retirement
Of course we’re partial to our city, we live here! But Kiplinger magazine and Yahoo Homes are too, for reasons you may want to consider, if you’re even thinking about early retirement.
They chose ten cities and used criteria which included: low crime and unemployment rates, reasonable living costs, especially for housing and health care, high numbers of 45 to 64 year-old residents and tax-friendliness.
Why that last one? Because they assume that even if you can retire early, you will still want to supplement your income with part-time employment.
And even though Sioux Falls came in number five on this list, it is the most affordable city in the country based on the cost of living alone!
