Chad Campbell, Executive Director of the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House in Sioux Falls, says residents of the shelter are helping to clean up the neighborhood.

"We really want to be good neighbors and are doing what we can to make sure that everybody that we come into contact with has a good and positive impression of the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House," said Campbell. "That's why we went out on Saturday with about ten of our guests, a staff member and myself. We walked around the neighborhood and picked up debris and trash to kind of beautify the area. We have plans to continue our clean up operations. We try to confer with our guests on a daily basis to focus on trying to be good neighbors."

Within several weeks, Chad says the House will be able to take in more men.

"We should hopefully get all our bunk beds delivered and put together within the next two weeks which will increase our capacity to about 90 individuals in the male room. We already have the beds for females installed and have been averaging about 17 to 18 women. With the additional beds, we will be able to provide even more stability and privacy for our guests."

Chad says the facility is already changing lives in our community.

"When we can stabilize housing for these individuals, it is our hope to make progress in their lives to where they can feel good and become  productive members of our society."

Chad Campbell says the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House broke a record last week by housing 80 men.
