Body Found in South Dakota Freezer

Authorities investigating an ongoing fraud case discovered more than misuse of funds.  They found a body in a freezer.

The announcement came early evening on Thursday March 10, 2016.  Authorities are now investigating the identity of the person and the manner in which they died.

The Pennington County Sheriff's Office says deputies found the elderly woman's body at a Rapid City home. Deputies made the discovery while responding to a call about a possible missing person case related to an ongoing fraud investigation.

Although authorities did not reveal the circumstances regarding their suspicions, the body may have not originated in South Dakota, and could have been transported after the woman's death.
