PIERRE - A South Dakota children's chorus made an impromptu performance at the site of the Boston Marathon bombings.

The Capital City Children's Chorus of Pierre traveled to Boston last week for a series of performances. KCCR radio reports that the group was on its way to the Cathedral of St. Paul on Sunday morning when it stopped by the site where the bombings happened.

Director Barb Newman says the chorus got off the bus and sang a song called "Please Grant My Wish for Peace." She says it left many people at the site in tears.

The chorus was ending its trip Monday by singing the national anthem at a Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park.
