CDC Selects Sioux Falls to Host Public Health Fellow
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has selected South Dakota to host a public health fellow focused on assisting individuals and neighborhoods struggling to maintain their property.
The city of Sioux Falls says in a news release that the CDC is placing Vanessa Sweeney in the two-year position. Sweeney will be working with the Sioux Falls' Health Department and Planning and Building Services. Her specialty is mental illness and substance abuse within indigent populations
This is the first time South Dakota has been selected to host a CDC public health prevention specialist fellow. Sweeney will be introduced to the City Council on Tuesday.
