The way we’re voting in Sioux Falls is about to change again.  After the high tech e-polling voter check in system and the choice of voting centers for the recent school board election, the next city election will be old school.

Minnehaha County auditor Bob Litz says there will be no e-polling or choice of voting centers at the next city election.

We’ll have the book again and everyone will go to the precincts, and to complicate matters, on every other year the city runs the school’s election and so, that school election will be at the precincts but when the school does a stand-alone then they’re going to stick to the e-poll books and voting centers.

Some people say it’s a step backwards.

That’s the feeling but due to the voter confusion about the vote centers verses precincts I think they thought it was best until everything gets resolved.

Litz also says it helps with overcrowding of certain voting centers, by evenly distributing voters at assigned precincts.
