Sioux Falls has changed a lot since 1961. John F. Kennedy was president, we had yet to go to the moon, and Interstate 29 was brand new.

I saw the coolest photo in my Facebook newsfeed the other day. This is the 41st street exit on Interstate 29 approaching from the south looking north.

The only real landmark you can see, other than the highway curve and the bridge, is to the right of the sign. The VA Hospital and water tower are visible sticking up above the trees. It's crazy that the VA sits between 22nd and 26th streets on Western and in this photo there's nothing in between there and the 41st except farm fields.

The photo was posted on a cool Facebook page called "Greetings From Sioux Falls." It has lots of historical photos and postcards on it.
