Over time I have worked with several different kinds of people. As I look back, I see a wide variety of personalities.

And if you want to surround yourself with personalities, get in the radio announcer business. We are some strange folks.

Oh yes we are. It's an ego driven business to put it bluntly. We love what we do, don't get me wrong. It's fun and everything, but it really takes a different kind of motivation to do it.

How strange are we? That's the question I decided to tackle after twenty five years since I first spoke live on radio.

Are we psychopaths? Boy, that didn't sound good. We can't be that.

What is a psychopath exactly? Well it's not just someone who cuts you up with a chainsaw, though the majority of people who do things like that are psychopaths.

I looked it up in some dictionaries and other sources and found a variety of descriptions. I focused on one doctor's explanation, where he called it bold behavior.

Bold behavior, that could be us! How about you, does your profession suggest being in our group? Well take a look at this:

According to The Grindstone, here are the top ten careers that tend to have the most psychopaths.

  1. CEO
  2. Lawyer
  3. Media (TV/Radio)
  4. Salesperson
  5. Surgeon
  6. Journalist
  7. Police Officer
  8. Clergy person
  9. Chef
  10. Civil Servant
