"Stormy Weather," originally sung by Ethel Waters in 1933, is an American standard that's been performed by dozens of vocal legends over the years, including Etta James, Lena Horne and Billie Holiday. It only make sense, then, that one of the greatest voices of our generation (and also The Voice itself) would tackle the song, too.

Last September, Christina Aguilera performed "Stormy Weather" at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to commemorate the opening of the Smithsonian's new National Museum of African American History and Culture.

But it wasn't until last night (Jan. 12), during ABC's Taking The Stage: African American Music And Stories That Changed America special — a celebration of the cultural impact of African Americans in America — that we finally got to see her performance in all of its glory.

True to the "Telepathy" singer's typical performance style, the Bionic powerhouse served up plenty of soulful belting and vocal runs aplenty — even a few signature "HA!"s along the way. And much like that extended note-heard-'round-the-world whenever she performs Etta James' "At Last," she lets it all out in the final few seconds. SAY!-ng it, Legend X.

The event, attended by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, included an array of A-list artists and announcers, including Oprah Winfrey, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder and John Legend.

We're sincerely missing your divine presence on the pop scene, Christina. You got that next album ready yet?

Watch Christina belt out "Stormy Weather" up top.
