Chuck Brennan, Pay Day Loan Shark, proved the accusation of taking from the poor when he announced the sale of his Badlands race track and other properties in our area. He is blaming us for his decisions.

Sour Grapes.

The passage of the Pay Day Loan Cap has shut down his cash machine. He can no longer make grandiose promises to the community with money taken from the poor. His empire was a house of cards.

When Mr. Brennan came back to Sioux Falls, he did it with swagger. His early actions showed he planned on being a 'Big Dog.'

The purchase of Huset's Speedway, and the promise of bigger and better, didn't attract fans. He paid about $1.4 million for it. According to him, he put $10 million in it. Now it is for sale at $9.75 million. He will be lucky to get his original investment back.

The promise of building an amazing pawn shop near the new Denny Sanford Premier Center had some people shaking their heads. The building, while new, already has a somewhat trashy appearance because of the rusty iron in front. He had to let several people go because the business was not meeting expectations.

Granted, his building projects between 10th and 11th near Grange Avenue, were an improvement. People were excited about the Rock and Roll Academy and affiliation with Youth Enrichment Services. That affiliation didn't last long.

Mr. Brennan's post on the Badland's Speedway Website announcing the sale does more than blame voters. He brags about investing and donating nearly $100,000,000 in our area. A true philanthropist doesn't brag about what he does. He quietly goes about the work of making this a better place.

Our community is finding out what kind of person Mr. Brennan is when things don't go his way. Hope he doesn't hurt more people as he heads out of town.
