Three years ago a switch was made to split up Class 11AA into two classes. Cross conference games continue and so far this year Class 11AA leads the series.

Eight cross conference games have taken place. Most people would assume that Class 11AAA has dominated the series, but the record is actually in favor of Class 11AA. That's as of now.

There is only one cross conference game this upcoming week, but the following week features several. The Sioux Falls schools will have their shot at Class 11AA teams soon, and that will probably draw the record closer.

11AA leads the season series 5-3 as of today. Sioux Falls schools are 2-1 in the series against 11AA teams.

11AAA Wins:

RC Stevens def Sturgis 39-3 (Week 1)

SF Washington def Yankton 43-19 (Week 2)

SF Roosevelt def Harrisburg 41-8 (Week 3)

11AA Wins:

Pierre def Watertown 28-27 2OT (Week 0)

Mitchell def Watertown 13-10 OT (Week 2)

Spearfish def RC Central 25-23 (Week 2)

Yankton def Aberdeen Central 36-25 (Week 3)

Brookings def SF Lincoln 28-22 (Week 3).

Now don't go jumping too far. The average margin of victory of a AAA team over a AA team is 31 points. On the other side, Class AA wins over AAA only average of margin of victory of 4.6 points.

There are nine more cross conference games to be played this season. Most will take place on Week 5, and the last will be on Week 8. The season series is likely to switch based on the games, but that's also why they play the games.
