Co-creator Of ‘The Simpsons’ Is Dying Of Cancer And Is Giving Away His Fortune
Sam Simon developed the animated sitcom “The Simpsons” with Matt Groening in 1989. He left the show in 1993, but receives a piece of the show’s revenue each year. Mr. Simon is a wealthy man, but he’s also dying of cancer. The 58-year-old has terminal colorectal and only has months to live.
Simon will give away most of his fortune to charities that feed the homeless and save animals from being killed in shelters. Simon told The Hollywood Reporter:
The truth is, I have more money than I’m interested in spending. Everyone in my family is taking care of. And I enjoy this.
