Sioux Falls Police are investigating a string of burglaries in western Sioux Falls at construction sites.

Spokesman Sam Clemens is inclined to believe that these robberies are related mainly based on the relative close proximity.

“The first (robbery) was a construction trailer that had some tools taken from it. The second one was another construction trailer except in this case they stole the whole trailer. The trailer and all the tools estimated (value was) around $10,000.”

Some investigation is still needed because Clemens says the third trailer was owned by a contractor who was storing their equipment at the site.

“They had a contractor that had a trailer out there. They believe the trailer was empty, but they are not sure if anything was taken. The person that saw (the trailer) discovered that the lock was cut. The contractor wasn’t there so they don’t know.”

Two of the trailers were at a site on West Strabane Street while the stolen trailer was on South Wheatland Avenue.

The two locations are about four blocks away from each other in an area west of Sertoma Avenue and south of 26th Street.
