Definitely not one of the better weekends for the city of Sioux Falls.

It all started with a Sioux Falls man being arrested on Saturday, February 20 for the murder of 37 year old female earlier that day at a home located at 331 North Cliff Ave.

The man, 33 year old Garrett Solorzano, was taken in to custody and is currently being held at the Minnehaha County Jail on a first-degree murder charge.

A police investigation determined that the woman's death was a result of foul play. The victim and her assailant are believed to have known each other. The name of the victim has not been released at this time.

Police were then dispatched to a home in the 100 block of North Cleveland Avenue just after midnight on Sunday where they found two people had been stabbed. Upon arriving, officers found a 45-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man with non-life threatening stab wounds. The suspect had fled the scene by the time police arrived.

Both victims were treated and later released from a Sioux Falls hospital.

Investigation into the stabbing incident continues.
