The CW has had itself a banner year between superheroes and Golden Globes, but there’s always a new class on the horizon. To wit, some of the network’s newest pilot offerings include CW-ized Archie drama Riverdale, a Frequency reboot, and more.

The Riverdale series was initially conceived at FOX before The CW ran with the idea, helmed by DC TV producer extraordinaire Greg Berlanti, and written by Archie Comics’ chief creative officer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. You can also check out the full character descriptions, including buff Archie and his fractured friendship with Jughead, with whom “the hurt goes that deep.”

Also granted official pilot orders at The CW are period horror thriller Transylvania, a Mars mystery thriller, a new project from Vampire Diaries and The Following alum Kevin Williamson, and a Frequency reboot from Supernatural boss Jeremy Carver. This time around however, the Jim Caviezel/Dennis Quaid drama is re-imagined as a female detective communicating with her father on the force two decades earlier.

It’s early yet, but which of The CW’s latest offerings might make it through the pilot phase?
