SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - South Dakota corrections officials say the death of an inmate at the State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls is an apparent suicide.

Authorities say the state Division of Criminal Investigation is still looking into the death of 22-year-old Corey Rhodes. An autopsy is planned.

Rhodes was found unresponsive in his cell on Friday and taken to a hospital, where he died Sunday.

Rhodes was serving a six-year sentence for a 2011 burglary conviction in Brown County.
