Smartphone users may have started noticing that their data plans are being maxed out, which in turn, is causing their monthly bill to climb higher and higher.  The problem just might be traced back to your Facebook app.

MoneySavingExpert.com, a consumer finance site, has said that they are receiving complaints from smartphone users who have been surprised by high data bills that have sent many over their their monthly limit.  Those same smartphone users are pointing the finger of blame at Facebook and auto-playing videos.

If you are one of those that may have had this same problem, lucky for you, the fix is quick and easy.  If you want to save money and data on your smartphone, simply turn off the "auto-play" setting on Facebook videos.

IPhone users should simply tap the "Settings" button, scroll down and click "Facebook".  Then, click "Settings", "Auto-play" and choose "Wi-Fi only" or "Off".

The process is just as simple for Android users.  Bring up the "Facebook" app, go to the "Account Settings" and then just decide between "Auto-play only on Wi-Fi" or "Off".

Saving money on your smartphone bill could be as easy as just a couple of clicks.  If you still feel as if you have unfair data charges, you should contact your provider.
