It's not even Halloween yet, and I just read according to a new survey one in four of us are already stressed out about Christmas!

That's right, 25% of us are already starting to sweat the Christmas shopping season and it hasn't even officially begun yet.

How to pay for all those Christmas presents is what's stressing the majority of us out the most. Even though 56% of us plan on spending as much if not more Christmas shopping than we did in 2012.

40% of us have already got a jump start on our holiday gift buying. Almost 25% claim to buy gifts throughout the year, so they don't have to plop down a large chunk of change all at once.

One thing is for sure, it sounds like most every holiday shopper out there hates putting up with the packed malls, and the crowded parking lots that result in a 3 mile hike to the front door.

The survey found that 90% of us plan to stay inside the comfort of our nice warm home, camp out in front of our computers in our jammies and do at least some of our Christmas shopping online.

Almost 1 in 4 holiday shoppers plan on buying at least half of our holiday gifts online this Christmas shopping season.

While it’s true that holiday shopping online can be convenient, remember, one of the biggest favors you can do for yourself and your community is to frequent your local merchants over the holiday season. Spending money locally is the lifeblood to a strong local economy.

The majority of the money you spend stays in the community, benefiting your friends and neighbors. You get better customer service when you shop local. It creates jobs in your community, keeping your community alive.

Oh yeah, not to mention all those holiday gift bags filled with goodies you get at 12:01am on Black Friday for shopping local. My wife’s and practically every other woman’s favorite thing about Christmas shopping I think.

So, are you ready? On mark, get set, go! It’s almost Christmas shopping season again. Good luck!
