Police were called to the historic district in downtown Sioux Falls Friday afternoon, September 23, where officers responded to a call of a man with a gun at 120 S. Duluth Avenue just after 2:00 PM.

When authorities arrived, the suspect had left the location. However the residents identified the suspect who lives on the same street. The victim and his adult son were threatened by the suspect with a handgun according to Lieutenant David McIntire:

The investigation lead Officers to 124 S. Duluth #1 where they made contact with David Wayne Bordeaux, a 59 year old Sioux Falls man.  Bordeaux was subsequently identified as the perpetrator.

A handgun was also recovered from Bordeaux’s apartment.  Bordeaux was charged with 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, Commission of a Felony with a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm While Intoxicated

Bordeaux was apprehend and taken to the Minnehaha County Jail.  A portion of Duluth Avenue was shut down for two hours while officers searched for the suspect and conducted their investigation.
