EmBe in Sioux Falls provides many camps, sports clinics, leagues and more to help kids and young adults stay active, learn sportsmanship and develop skills. One of the programs offered through EmBe is Girls on the Run, a transformational physical activity-based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-5th grades.

Life skills are taught through interactive lessons and running games, culminating in a 5K running event. According to GirlsOnTheRun.org, running is used to inspire and motivate girls, encourage lifelong health and fitness, and build confidence through accomplishment.

Volunteer coaches are also needed. Positive role models are encouraged to get involved in this after school program. Women 18 and older are welcome and you do not need to be a runner to coach.
