Everything You Need to Know About the Jaycees Haunted House
The Sioux Falls Jaycees have been putting the “spook” into Halloween for 43 years, so as you can probably imagine, they’re pretty good at it! Every year they let their creativity lead them into new, even creepier territory.
This year’s Haunted House, at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds, is no exception, as they are featuring something called “Emily’s Closet”, a 3-D experience which puts you into a nightmare you can’t escape!
You’ll have plenty of opportunities to experience the house with the generous schedule:
Friday, October 20: 7 p.m.–12 a.m.
Saturday, October 21: 7 p.m.–12 a.m.
Monday, October 23: 7 p.m.–9:30 p.m.
Tuesday, October 24: 7 p.m.–9:30 p.m.
Wednesday, October 25: 7 p.m.–9:30 p.m.
Thursday, October 26: 7 p.m.–9:30 p.m.
Friday, October 27: 7 p.m.–12 a.m.
Saturday, October 28: 7 p.m.–12 a.m.
Monday, October 30: 7 p.m.–9:30 p.m.
HALLOWEEN Tuesday, October 31: 7 p.m. Until the Crowd Dies
As always, the Jaycees are offering reduced admission prices when you bring canned food items for Feeding South Dakota.
Discount: Up to $3 Off with Canned Food Donation ($1 Off Per Canned Good Up to 3 Per Person) (Only One (1) Discount Per Person) Fast Passes are available for an additional $5 on Fridays, Saturdays and Halloween. They will take credit cards but it will cost you a $1 processing fee.
Sunday, October 22nd, from 2 to 4 PM is the special Kid’s Day with candy, music, dancing inflatables, games and Mr. Twister too! All kids age 12 and under are invited and you can even sneak in one adult with you for free. Admission is reduced to $8 (or $7 with a canned food item).
If you’re planning on going, there are a few things the Jaycees think you should know.
Rules: This event is not recommended for pregnant women or people with high blood pressure, back or neck or heart ailments. Children under 10 may be best suited for Kid’s Day. Parents and guardians are responsible for the safety for the children in their care. We use strobe lights, fog machines, animatronics, and loud noises to scare you. Please do not touch props, animatronics, or volunteers; and we will try not to touch you. Also, no flashlights, cell phones, lighters, glow necklaces, or weapons are allowed. No refunds will be given after the purchase of a ticket. We reserve the right to refuse service and reserve the right to escort you from the premises.”
