Although the Lincoln County Sheriff says there was no law broken with the tannerite blasts Sunday night, but the investigations continue.

One neighborhood in Sioux Falls had people leaving their homes to investigate what they thought was a home explosion and children were crying in the streets.

It turned out some residents were blowing off tannerite on their property.

Tannerite is a combination of two legal substances that when combined and shot with a firearm, explodes on impact.

It is not illegal, but it had people throughout the region concerned for their safety as the blast were heard and felt for many miles.

Lincoln County commissioner Jim Schmidt says they are looking into the matter. The commission is holding a meeting Tuesday and will provide further updates.
