Families of Victims Manchester Concert Will Receive $324,000

Back in May, during an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England a terrible act of violence occurred. A shrapnel-laden homemade bomb was placed near the exit of the Manchester Arena. Twenty-two people were killed and 250 were injured in the attack.

On June 4th Ariana Grande returned to Manchester for a benefit concert entitled "One Love Manchester." The British Red Cross reported it received more than $13 million in donations during the 12 hours following the concert and over $23 million since then.

News broke yesterday (Tuesday 15) that each of the families of the 22 people killed during the show, will receive $324,000 each. According to Billboard, Councillor Sue Murphy, the fund's chair of trustees said in a statement:

"The payments will ensure the families benefit from the phenomenal outpouring of public support following the attack, the city and the world responded with such extreme kindness, generosity and solidarity in the aftermath of the Manchester Arena attack."
