I would say I watch Food Network 90% of the time.  Yes, I occasionally turn away to watch "American Idol," a rerun of "Friends," "Will and Grace," or "Seinfeld," but most of the time the channel is parked on Food Network.

If you're a foodie, you've probably seen the show "Good Eats."  Alton Brown doesn't just cook, he explores the origins of ingredients and decodes culinary customs.  You learn while you cook.  You can still watch the reruns on Food Network.

Alton's latest project is a national tour where he visits cities across the country doing stand-up comedy, live music and extreme food experimentation.  What does "extreme food experimentation" mean?  It means some people in the audience may need to wear a poncho.  "Alton Brown Live:  The Edible Inevitable Tour" is coming to the Washington Pavilion, February 17 at 7:30pm. Tickets range from $42 to $100 for VIP.

Of course, while he's in town, he wants to visit some of our fabulous restaurants and coffee shops and he's asking for your help.  Go to Alton's Facebook page or this Twitter page and suggest your favorite place.  Make sure you use the hashtag #ABRoadEatsSFSD.  Read more about Alton Brown's Road Eats here.

Here's a glimpse of the tour.
