A Sioux Falls High School teacher turned in his resignation after being arrested on charges of taking pictures without consent. He had been at Roosevelt High School since 2009.

According to Sioux Falls Police, 35-year-old Dallas Wilkinson was caught on a security camera at the South Minnesota Hy-Vee in late June using a foot cam to take pictures from underneath women’s skirts. He was arrested Friday on four counts all misdemeanors.

After being released on bond, Wilkinson resigned his position as instructor and boy’s soccer coach. Sioux Falls School Superintendent Dr. Brian Maher says that none of the photos that were recovered by police were school related.

Even without the resignation, Maher says Wilkinson probably would have been relieved of his teaching duties. “In general when you have a personnel matter that is invasive like this one, it’s certainly a standard that I would not expect any of our staff members to be a part of. Would it cost them their job, most likely.”

Maher also says this incident does not reflect the rest of the staff. “I won’t have any more worry tonight, last week or last month regarding the employees of this school district. We draw the best and brightest and I think we’ll continue drawing the best and brightest going forward.”
