If you've been pondering how you can help disabled vets right here in the Sioux Falls area, the Disabled American Veterans chapter in town is going to make it easy for you. Through Saturday, September 13th, you will be contributing to numerous support services for disabled vets, just by making a donation to their Forget-Me-Not fundraiser.

DAV volunteers will be handing out blue Forget-Me-Not flowers for donations at all Hyvee stores, Walmarts and other local stores in Sioux Falls. Any size donation will be accepted and will be put to work helping local disabled vets who gave their all in service to our country.

Since 1926 this small blue flower has been handed out for donations to raise funds for services and assistance for our veterans.  Your donation helps with programs at the VA Medical Center, provides financial assistance to needy veterans, a veteran's meal program, funds the Hospital Transportation Network (which purchases vans to provide free rides to/from medical facilities for veterans), and other veteran assistance programs.

For more information call 332-6866 or simply stop by a Forget-Me-Not location and make your donation and wear your little blue flower proudly, knowing that you are making a difference for veterans here at home.
