He's a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and one of the founding members of the iconic group KISS. Now, Ace Frehley is coming to Sioux City.

The 'Spaceman' is bringing his Space Invader Tour to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Thursday, September 10, at 8:00 PM.

Frehley got his first electric guitar as a Christmas present in 1964, and eight years later, he answered an ad in the Village Voice from a band looking for a lead guitarist. Frehley later auditioned for the existing members of Wicked Lester: Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and Peter Criss. Three weeks later, he got the gig. A few months later, the band changed its' name to KISS.

Frehley stayed with the group for the next decade, before leaving for a solo career in 1982. He rejoined KISS in 1996 for reunion tour, staying until 2002 when he left after what he thought was the band's farewell tour.

Frehley's solo success actually began while he was still a member of KISS. In September 1978, each member of the band released a solo album the same day (September 18). Frehley's "New York Groove" went all the way to number 13 on the Billboard chart, the best showing for any single from any of the band member's four solo albums.

His latest album, Space Inavder, is his sixth studio album, and most successful to date, cracking the top Ten on the Billboard Album Chart.

Ticket information for the Anthem show will be announced soon. The Ace Frehley show is the start of a big weekend of rock at the Hard Rock Sioux City. Molly Hatchet plays at Anthem Friday, September 11, George Thorogood and The Destroyers play Saturday, September 12.
