A Former Stampede player is one of a trio of finalists for college hockey's top individual award.

Quinnipiac goaltender Eric Hartzell joins St. Cloud State forward Drew LeBlanc and Boston College forward Johnny Gaudreau as finalsts for the 2013 Hobey Baker Award. 

Hartzell, son of former Stampede Head Coach Kevin Hartzell, led the Bobcats to an Eastern College Athletic Conference regular season title and Frozen Four appearance this season, while leading the nation in wins (29), second in minutes played, and third in Goals-Against-Average and shutouts.  He played in Sioux Falls from 2007-2009.

The winner will be announced April 12th on the NHL Network.  Two other former Herd players have won the Hobey Baker award in the past: Marty Sertich in 2005 and Jack Connolly last season.  

Hartzell and Quinnipiac play St. Cloud State in the semifinals of the NCAA Hockey Tournament, April 11th at 7:00pm on ESPN2.
