Frankie Macdonald has been working pretty hard lately. This is the third time this season he has alerted South Dakotans to a massive snowstorm that could hit our area.

Frankie is an amateur weatherman from Nova Scotia and keeps an eye to the sky. When dangerous weather looms, Frankie is prepared with storm details and information on how we can plan to ride out the storm.

I think Samsung, Pepsi and Coke owe this guy some money for all the endorsements.

Frankie says to expect six to 12 inches of snow Sunday evening, January 21. He's not kidding.

We checked with the National Weather Service and here is what they are predicting:

Sunday: Drizzle likely, possibly mixed with snow, becoming all snow after 4:00 PM. Cloudy, with a high near 36. North northeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Sunday Night: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Patchy blowing snow after 9pm. Low around 24. Blustery, with a north wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of around 6 inches.

Monday: Snow, mainly before noon. Areas of blowing snow. High near 29. Blustery. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of around 3 inches.
