The Midwest region of the United States is made up of 12 states. The states considered to be in the 'Midwest' include: South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska and Ohio.

If you were born and raised here, you are aware that the Midwest is a special place that many hold near and dear in their hearts. And even though there are bigger cities like Minneapolis, Omaha and Chicago, a more laid back lifestyle of North and South Dakota can also be found in the Midwest helping to give the region a bit more of a variety.

But to people that aren't from the Midwest, there are still some behaviors and sayings are undeniably Midwestern and will definitely let others from around the country know just where you call home.

From hanging by the lake playing Cornhole, ordering a side of Ranch with just about everything to having a pop with lunch, here are some sure signs and a quick reminder that you were 'Born in the Midwest'.

Just for the record, I love Puppy Chow, I know what Tator Tot Hot Dish is and I taught my two boys how to play Padiddle. Yes, I'm proud to say that I was born and raised in the Midwest.
