Gas Prices Dip Slightly in South Dakota
Gas prices in South Dakota dropped a little bit over the past week but it is the first drop so far in 2018.
The average price of unleaded is at $2.55, down 3 cents over the last week. That is still higher than 30 cents more than one year ago.
“Gas price averages are less expensive for 78 percent of states, including South Dakota, as compared to last Monday. Motorist filling up in the Midwest, South and East Coast are most likely to see the positive change at the pump,” said Marilyn Buskohl, AAA spokesperson. “Unfortunately, it’s too early to know if this one-week decline is the start of a cheaper gas price trend.”
While it seems like gas costs a lot more than it has in the last few years it could be a lot worse. Third worst for gas prices is Alaska at $3.04. California comes in second at $3.35. The most expensive gas in the country is in Hawaii where they pay $3.44 per gallon. But they live in Hawaii so they beat our 12 degree high and half a foot of snow.
