I can already feel my waistline getting larger!

As you get ready to belly up to the Thanksgiving Day table, be prepared to have your belly be just a little bit bigger once you've finished.

A study out of Cornell University has just confirmed what a great majority of us already feared. You can really pack on some extra pounds if you're not careful what you eat on turkey day.

A professor at Cornell University monitored one family's early Thanksgiving dinner to figure out how many calories they were going to take in. And while it's just one family that was being monitored, the findings appear to be somewhat universal.

The average person will scarf down in the neighborhood of 2,000 calories worth of food just at dinner.  And that doesn't even include drinks or appetizers.

It's very possible that some people could almost DOUBLE that!

That is providing you're one of those people that likes to go back for seconds on all the un-healthy side dishes. You know things like, stuffing, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato casserole, baked corn casserole, and how about all those deserts? I can feel my belt tightening up just thinking about them.

Then of course you can also add a few hundred extra calories just warming up before the big dinner, by snacking on the appetizers, rolls, sneaking a cookie or two, or picking little pieces off the turkey.

Want the Nutrisystem phone number yet?

Here's one final Thanksgiving Day fat fact for you to chew on. It's not uncommon for a typical Thanksgiving meal containing 10-people to eat a combined 25,000 calories together.

Now would be a good time to add a Elliptical machine to your Christmas wish list.
