Hey do you know there's an election? Of course you do, you have a TV. And your vote matters. If you are registered you can, and should vote.

Election day is Tuesday, November 4, 2014. Polling  places (voting places) are open from 7am until 7pm. Go here to find your polling place in South Dakota.

To answer a couple FAQ (from the SD SOS website) :

Do I need to show photo identification when voting?

Yes. The acceptable forms of photo ID are:

  • A South Dakota driver's license or non-driver ID card;
  • A passport or other picture ID issued by the United States government;
  • A tribal photo ID; or
  • A current student photo ID issued by a South Dakota high school or postsecondary education institution.

I did not vote in the last election, do I need to re-register?

No. As long as you have either voted or updated your voter registration, you do not need to re-register.

This year we are choosing a Governor, Senator and a Representative to the House of Representatives. Also, there are races for several statewide offices, a constitutional amendment and two initiated measures on the ballot.
Initiated Measure 17: "An initiated measure to require health insurers to include all willing and qualified health care providers on their provider lists"
Initiated Measure 18: "An initiated measure to increase the state

minimum wage"
