And this month in "Dan Aykroyd doesn't know when to quit," the actor assures us that 'Ghostbusters 3' is still happening and it's totally shooting in 2014 -- for real, you guys! Guys? Are you still there?

At this point, Dan Aykroyd is starting to look like a crazy old man on his front lawn in pajamas, waving around his newspaper while trying to convince his neighbors that aliens are real. Actually, that's probably not far off from what Aykroyd does on the weekend.

ABC News reports that Aykroyd isn't going to let this 'Ghostbusters 3' thing die any time soon, telling the outlet that he expects "half" of the screenplay to be done soon, and as we all know, when you've got almost half of a screenplay completed, your movie is a done deal! Aykroyd goes on to say how the new film will have modern scientific themes, like the Higgs Boson, or "God" particle:

The Higgs boson and the particle theories, gluons and mesons, that really gives us a scientific base in terms of our fictional storytelling, to open up to another dimension and have something horrible come through...We’re going to really put it into ninth gear, in this third one.

Aykroyd is still keeping a proton pack warm for Bill Murray, even though the actor has famously, repeatedly refused to return for the third film:

If I can put the catch-net on Billy (Murray) and bring him in, it will be wonderful, if he decides to do it. There will always be a hole for him.

He also says that Ivan Reitman is returning to direct and the latest pages he's read of the new script have reignited his hope, seemingly intimating that he ever had a doubt that this movie would happen.
